Black River Ranch is located outside of Oakville, WA. Nestled across from the foothills of the Capital Forest and just an hour from Ocean Beaches, it is a picturesque, ideal location for a week of education with your horse. The ranch itself consists of varied terrain from open fields to treed areas, a seasonal creek, sloping hills and pear orchard that is beautiful in the summer.

Whether you are looking to host a clinic, participate in one, find a trainer, stallion service for your mare, or the horse of your dreams, my philosophy is simple; I want you to have the best horse experience of your life and continue to have the tools and the horse for those feelings to last a lifetime.

I have an in depth perception of horse behavior and over the many years of working with everything from problem horses to high level athletes, that came in every breed and discipline, I have been able to recognize physical difficulties or issues with tack / equipment that others miss. I also have the resources to help you and your horse, if those types of problems arise. I am not talking about excuses for lack of training expertise, but legitimate physical problems that need to be addressed and resolved before productive training can take place.

I am an easy going and understanding person that realizes my job is to teach. I want every student to understand why they are doing what they are doing with their horses. My intensity may rise when I am helping someone with a particularly dangerous behavior with their horse. I have been working with horses with behavior problems since 1992 and have never had a student injured.
